About this course
Most career-change advice skips the first question: is the field actually the problem? A large share of the unhappiness that triggers a change is caused by a manager, a level, or a life outside work, and none of those are fixed by starting again in a new field. This course begins with that diagnostic, then states the costs plainly — direct cost, lost earnings, and the loss of seniority that people underestimate emotionally rather than financially. It covers translating your existing experience into evidence an employer recognises, and how to close the gap without an expensive second qualification, ranked by what employers actually value. The last section is the move itself: the story that makes a change look considered rather than reactive, the direct challenge every career changer gets asked, and what the first year is really like, including the wobble around month five.
